Who we are
INDEX PRESS was started by Grant Maierhofer as part of a course in Editing and Publishing. The press is meant to give students more direct opportunities to engage in the editing and publishing process. The press’s first book, a new edition of Kafka’s The Metamorphosis, features student artwork, and an essay compiled from pieces of student essays. Forthcoming are editions of Flaubert’s works, and a critical project on Flaubert inspired by Tan Lin’s Edit Publishing project, wherein students directly engaged in creating supplementary texts based on Lin’s Seven Controlled Vocabularies […]. We are also establishing our Dromer Series of Books on Films, wherein writers are encouraged to write about individual films from a perspective of total subjectivity.
